Favorite Places in Southeast Springfield:

  • PFI/Saddle City: Super boot selection and great Western Bling (!!!) shopping. A very large selection of saddles and tack, plus a Wine Tasting/Gourmet Food shop.  Only in Springfield, MO can you sample good wine and buy a saddle in the same store!  www.pfiwestern.com.
  • Farmer's Park: Springfield’s newest Hot Spot. Totally green construction includes Living Space, Shopping, Fine dining using locally grown produce and meats, and a very vibrant Farmer’s Market. Try The Aviary or Metropolitan Farmer for dinner.
  • Metropolitan Grill.  Our favorite! Upscale contemporary dining.  Comfortable, but elegant.  Dress: Business Casual Jeans. Reservations recommended.  You will love the food and wine selection.  Nice bar with overhead flatscreens. (417) 889-4951.

Other Points of Interest:

Bass Pro Shops:  The original Bass Pro.  Buy a boat, a rifle, or some Crocs.  Multiple-level shopping amidst waterfalls and amazing taxidermy.  In the center of Springfield.  www.basspro.com

Branson:  From Bluegrass to Outlet Malls this is a fun place for shows and shopping. Visit www.branson.com for details.

Silver Dollar City: Amusement Park with an old-time flair.  On-site artists include an excellent coppersmith, very nice pottery, woodcarving, great blown glass, and Funnel Cakes!  See www.silverdollarcity.com

Fantastic Caverns:  A spectacular drive-through cave representative of the network of caves underneath this region. The hour-long tours are beautiful and interesting.  www.fantasticcaverns.com  Just North of Springfield.

Wilson's Creek National Battlefield:  A Civil War Battlefield with an excellent Visitors Center, and a nearby Civil War Museum.  Hiking, bike trails, and horse staging area.  Nice driving park tour.  Beautiful scenery and bird watching. www.nps.gov
